Our History
In 2006, Debra Hensley, Ernesto Scorsone, and many volunteers executed the astonishingly successful Out and About Banquet in Lexington, raising over $100,000 to benefit the Kentucky Fairness Alliance. It was a beginning of an incredible partnership.
JustFundKY was created and incorporated to keep that energy alive and the momentum moving forward. Our work is now aimed at creating an endowment to fund the many good efforts in Kentucky to eradicate discrimination against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (lgbt) community.
At the start of JustFundKY, Mr. Cliff Todd of Louisville, KY offered a very generous matching grant to assist us in reaching our goal of a million dollar endowment -- Mr. Todd will match each dollar up to $500,000.
The money raised by JustFundKY will be used to create an endowment and, while preserving the principal, will create a continuing revenue stream that will work year after year and long outlive us.
For two years, JustFundKY has held exciting and invigorating annual events that have raised a total of $470,000 for the furtherance of our goals.
